There is a Romance subplot, but it is NOT the focus. The characters are always the ultimate focus, for this is a Character Study.

Thirteen-year-old Noah Morillo had accepted he'd never amount to anything. That his life was over the moment it started. Incompetent, the lot referred to him. Abused and neglected by his family and bullied by his peers, he'd accepted he never stood a chance. So what was the point in trying?

When he loses his life in an instance of bullying that goes too far, he finds himself before the ominous Goddess of Foxes. The Goddess presents him with an offer: to reincarnate into the next life or to resurrect into his present life. But if he were to choose resurrection, he'd do so with her divine blessing. A blessing that'd strip him of all ability to acquire XP but one—through the culling of his own kind.

Tempted by dormant emotions, Noah hesitantly accepts.

This story follows Noah on his journey as he navigates a dark reality where he must hunt Humans to fuel his ascension. The blessing his sole saving grace, he won't let his second chance at life to fall to waste, no matter the costs.

Where his path ends? It may just do so with him becoming the stuff of legend.
