A former chess champion and professional gambler has gotten himself in heaps of trouble at the gambling table. He's looking at serving half his life in prison if he's lucky and the people he owes don't want to wait that long. An old man comes dangling an opportunity to play some game for a rich donor that will place him in an alternate reality unlike anything he's ever seen.
