The world is not quite what it seems. The veil of history has been drawn, magic and wonder largely relegated to folklore, myth, and religion. But no matter how fast culture and science progress, remnants of bygone ages linger just out of sight, almost as distant from the truth of history as an unaware mankind. These hidden populations persist, living in isolation or working in tandem. Some people are born into an ancient heritage and others discover this hidden world through entirely different means.

Aaron Abrams finds himself being drawn into the world by the Drakon Society, an organization claiming descent from the mightiest creatures of legend — dragons. But instead of a cadre of giant serpents of unimaginable power, he finds a people desperately trying to maintain their place in a time where hostile forces beset them from all sides.
