The first eight chapters removed from AAoMM proper, given a new lease on life as part of the eventual Light Novel rewrite! Stretched into thirteen chapters, the prologue should feel a bit smoother than they originally did, despite a possible confusing bit of memory log to narration swapping.
Join our protagonists, currently known as Reggie and Lil, for a vaguely Isekai adventure in a land whose rules contradict memories available to them. Our young protagonists struggle against nature, wildlife, even the rules of the world, as they endeavor to survive, all while having to overcome trauma caused during their formative moments.
This series explores adventure from the inner narrative perspective of someone with PTSD, generalized anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, and more. Our narrator is at times unreliable, though most of them are clarified rather quickly.
Similarities to certain anime/videogame/manga/western animation series may arise. Some are intentional nods, others are not realized or unknown or unintentional. Some listed influences are below:
No trademarks are referenced in writing, but all rights are reserved by their respective propertyholders, in the event I accidentally write something too similar to things from any of the following series, or others without my knowledge:
Digimon, copyright/trademark of Bandai/Bandai Namco
Dragon Quest series, Copyright/trademark Squaresoft/Square Enix
Tensura, aka tensei shitara slime datta ken, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Funnily enough, some portions trademark Bandai/Bandai Namco due to their production stake in the anime, as well as Funimation.
The Dragon Prince, rights held by Netflix I think.
DnD, D&D AKA Dungeons and Dragons, copyright/trademark Wizards of the Coast, WoTC all rights reserved etc.
I'm in no way affiliated with any of the companies, corporations, stakeholders, propertyholders, rights owners, or any such thing.
