Victor Pascal, gamer and faceless temp worker in a legion of faceless temp workers, never planned on trying to save the world - at least not the real one. But, after a mysterious explosion in the wilderness of central Washington, the temperature begins to rise. Before too long, the dead, too, begin to rise. Before he knows it, Victor is fleeing to the west with a small band of survivors; they soon realize that zombies are the least of their problems.
