At the toll of midnight, The Wizard Wars of 1439 explode into motion with the death of a messenger pigeon carrying a take-out order for leg of lamb. When Artimus decides to dine out instead, he happens upon a recently escaped luck charm, a living frog. Unbeknownst to him, Frances is desperately searching for the frog's new owner, before the future repeats itself...

While the technomages share Frances's goal, Zip has yet to be informed. Oversight is a powerful ingredient in the creation of artifacts, but when the crystal clock's power begins draining, Zip is left to find a solution alone... before the massive, floating timepiece comes crashing down on Neo-historic London.

But, most importantly: will Frog ever get home, or will he be a good luck charm forever?
