A colony ship hurtling through space, far from Earth and for who knows how long.
Things are not ok. The ship is heading to impact into a distant sun and no one on the ship knows exactly when that's going to happen. He's stuck in the Cryo-Lab and the only one who even knows that's something wrong. It's a long road to The Bridge through the Cryo-Lab, Cargo Bays, Engineering, and other parts of the ship that have warped over the years.
Infestations, alien crabs, insane crew, God knows what else, and all he wakes up to is a strange Terminal screen and its slightly-malicious Local AI.
He doesn't remember shit but is definitely starting to think that he might have been in cryo a lot longer than he thought.
Writing Schedule:
I am now posting 2k-3k word chapters 5 days a week on Monday and Wednesday-Saturday (no Tuesday, no Sunday). I may make additional posts on off-days, depending on my pace.
Warning Time: Violence, Gore, Coarse language, Biological modification, Missing Parts, Surgery, Torture, and Sexual Content (beyond some vague references I don't have any plans for anything detailed but I want to keep my options open as I write). It's not all the time but I like the fights brutal and with real damage.
I'd recommend going into it blind, it might be a bit confusing at first, but I try to avoid info dumping as much as possible. Because of this we discover the setting alongside the MC. Below are some other things you might find interesting in my story.
There is, to my knowledge, a unique Skill and Stat development system. Shops are old-school looking, P1 phosphor green "Terminals", and there is interesting and unique gear.
What about magic???
It's sci-fi, so while someone can't use magic to throw a fireball at an enemy, they CAN throw a Nano-magnetic shell that's wrapped around a ball of plasma to melt someone in half.
For instance, a "wizard staff" in the universes of MeatSpace would be a metal battlestaff loaded with a truly outrageous number of ways to tear/mutilate/melt/peel/evaporate/etc someone apart, with science, and lasers, acid, degeneration beams, radiation novas, and on and on. I follow the Rule of Cool, the Rule of Not Making Shit Look Stupid. The Universe of MeatSpace has laws and the story stays within those laws. Please feel free to let me know if I break any of these with some brutally honest feedback. I appreciate it all.
Rest assured, if I include something or a concept, I have already thought out how and when it will be later explained in the story.
If you've made it this far you might as well hop in already, the pool's open!
The water is warm and contains >50% H2O molecules. Blood is mostly water right?
