Prince Arrik has been isolated in a royal hunting lodge in the mountains since childhood, after his father died in a chariot racing accident and the King's brother took over the Regency until Arrik was of age to fulfil his destiny as King. His mother was separated from Arrik to a different part of the realm and the borders closed as their lives were feared in danger of invasion. Now he was within months of being 21 and, whilst looking forward to returning to the palace, he was mystified by rumours of a magical Chocolate Rose appearing in a garden when, of course no chocolate could be imported with the borders closed.
