Christmas is two weeks away, but Santa Claus and his elves have a problem. The North Pole is melting!

It all started when Holloway, the sixteen-year-old head elf, fell into a melting lake while he was playing with his little sister, Brenna. Fearful of the North Pole's future, Santa summons Jack Frost, a winter spirit who has been held captive in a snowflake pendant for one-hundred years. Frost is the only one who can refreeze the Pole, but because of his long slumber, his powers are rusty and out of control. Aside from that, he is not a believer in the Christmas spirit.

In order to change his Jack's mind, Santa sends him to Greenville, South Carolina, where he has to live amongst the humans until he is ready.

However, time is running out. If Frost doesn't refreeze the Pole and choose a new Jackie Frost by Christmas Eve, then his winter magic will be useless. That is unless six-year-old August Melody Carter is able to help him. But how can a sickly girl save the most powerful spirit in the world and all the Christmases to come? Only Yuletide Village's inhabitants know that answer.
