A monstrous True Dragon powerful enough to stomp over countries and raze armies declares the country as his own. All the King's horses and all the King's men can't stop him. Swords might as well be toothpicks, and magic bounces off his majestic scales.

Jet, officer in the King's Army, has been tasked with recruiting the only person powerful enough to stand a chance against the near-omnipotent True Dragon: a man known as Gideon, the strongest dragon-slaying mage in the kingdom. There's just one problem: Gideon himself.

Although Gideon loves killing dragons, every other part of him is a bit... troublesome. Tasked with handling this strange man until he reaches the True Dragon and destroys it, or dies in the attempt, Jet is driven to wit's end. The true danger along the route to the True Dragon may be less the beasts, dragons, and bandits they face along the way, and more Gideon and his... interesting demeanor.
