For Velthera, the opportunity to leave an insignificant town like Helfer comes through either luck or marriage. So when she finds her fairy tale-like chance and a talking fog who claims to be a prince suddenly shows up, how can she not give in and try to release the curse on him?

Unfortunately, so begins a dangerous web where she doesn't know why she's still alive and actually recieved her wish to control a powerful kingdom... It just happens to be the most vilified on the whole planet, just barely in a temporary truce with most the forces of good. Without magic, allies, or even just more humans to talk to, she has to somehow learn more than seems reasonable while half of 'her' kingdom is up in arms over the new ruler and outsiders want to take advantage of such an innocent girl.

Well, at least she has a really powerful lich looking after her... And he's rather possessive for some reason. In a way she did get her prince, it was just a matter of keeping him.
