What is the world but the interactions between ideas and concepts. We exist within the world and we recreate the world in the mind. Does this make that world any less real, or does this only make the physical world more real. Do we create the divine, or does the divine exist irrespective of reality, does the divine create us? Perhaps they all carry within them parts of the truth. Perhaps all of them are true.
Not everyone can house a god, much less the first god to grace humanity with its desperate attempt at survival. See, humanity has done an awfully good job at wiping out that which was once our source of wonder, what was once our source of the divine. And for once in their immortal lives the divine feared that which they once thought was impossible to them - death. The destruction of nature, the suffocation of the ocean, the pollution of the sky, itemization of the sun, they fear this. So, unlike the other gods who aren't connected to humanity, those nascent yet ancient beings do the only thing they can, the only thing they should have done long ago, they connect themselves to humanity, and as they reach out, so do the thousands of humans that have been doing so for generations, reaching out for something more, something beyond, something divine.
What will the meeting of gods and man bring about in this once purely material reality, how will the collision of the spiritual and the earthly realms both create a new reality, and also mirror the one that already existed. Can they coexist, should they coexist, will they coexist? Follow Andrew Bernard Thaddeus Landfield, the son of a librarian, heir to books and the fictional - considered an all around thoughtful, if overly conflict averse guy - as he longs for something beyond and gets more than he wished for. Follow his journey as wonder and logic clash and as humanity chooses between sacredness or the sublunary.
