This is the story of a faraway realm where heroes ride by day, and terrors roam at night, where swords clash, and wizards conjure—and for some reason—the laws of physics have been replaced with role-playing game rules.

Into this dangerous expanse falls Dan, a simple man from our world, given dark powers he does not understand. He will battle monsters, warlords, tyrants, and demons; he will protect the innocent and unlock ancient mysteries—all on his seemingly impossible quest to return home.

Unfortunately, no matter where Dan goes, no matter how many people he helps or evil abominations he slays, he must first overcome the same irritating obstacle: Everybody Hates Death Knights—and that means everybody hates him.
