Momotaro's life as a thief ended when strange knights came snooping around in his village searching for the "Starborn child," none other than Momotaro. He makes a pact with the voice in his head, a self-proclaimed god, to fight off the assaliants. The rules were simple: "Do not take anything without consent of the rightful owner. Do not speak lies. Pray to your god every night, before dawn comes. Else renounce the powers until the sun twice comes."

As he could no longer steal without exposing himself to his pursuers, he embarks in a quest with a traveling group to find the Heavenward Academy.

But two wars were brewing in the dark, a battle between the human kingdoms, and a battle between the gods.
