Societies across the world of Rivaga destroy firecores simply for existing, those unfortunate souls born with red eyes and gray hair.

Disguised in one such society, young firecore Cel is clever and ambitious. As she grows from child to young adult, she becomes entrenched in the politics of her family's criminal syndicate, and her desire for recognition grows. But as more and more of her defenses are stripped away by enemies near and dear, she must learn to rely on someone she hasn't quite figured out yet— herself.

Cel may be capable of greatness, but to reach such heights, she must first learn a hard lesson: you can't rule a world made of ashes.
