"Beneath the Broken Towers" tells a tale of Ulrem the Slayer, an outlander traveling the frontier of a bronze-age fantasy world. Driven by the strange power of the Ring he bears, Ulrem is drawn to a remote town by strange tidings of a killer that might give him a worthy fight...but the winds of fate have other ideas in store for the Slayer. This short story is the first of several set in this world.
