Prologue: Augury

The smell of blood and the tingle of lightning filled the air, making Aike's hair stand on end. He couldn't move and his limbs felt like lead. Aike looked up at the person in front of him. Their arm was crushed by rubble, and they gripped a semi-transparent and glowing orange sword in their other hand. Aike shuddered, and tried to move, but his body refused to respond. Then, like a pair of lanterns shining through the fog of night, glowing orange eyes like little spots of hellfire emerged from the billowing dust and smoke. As the figure behind the eyes began to appear, Aike felt a burning hatred rise from his gut like boiling oil. He stood up with the last of his strength, causing his muscles and bones to shake with pain. Aike let out a cry, filled with every last drop of his grief and rage. His body burned with energy for a split second, then he woke up

Soul Circuit is an experimental story that is currently in the works. This Fiction is meant to act as the groundwork for a comic/manga that will hopefully release sometime in the next couple of years. Soul Circuit is a massive story, with multiple storylines not including the one told here. This is the first of many, and will likely be around 400 chapters if it finishes before the comic's release.
