Arkalis is cursed – or so she says. With her twin brother banished, her father sick, and her kingdom under occupation, she spends her days at the bottom of a wine bottle. While content to waste away within her drunken debauchery, an assassination attempt on Arkalis' life shocks her into motion. She discovers too late that her friends are few and those that want her dead wield power beyond her wildest imagining. Maybe she really is cursed, though the voices in her head certainly don't think so.
