"I would sacrifice anything for my family." This is something which heroes often shout in defiance of some great evil in stories and movies. But how would you deal with being one of the ones the 'hero' sacrifices?
Alana Sheehan is a woman in her mid-twenties who returned to her childhood home after breaking up with her boyfriend, Adam. She was slowly starting to piece her life back together again when she was abducted, implanted with a device that gave her superhero-like powers and dumped on an alternate Earth which was already falling to the 'Enemy' advance. She also wasn't the only one taken and dumped in the Enemy's path to slow their progress.
Join Alana as she tries to survive in a post-apocalyptic world and aims to get back home while coming to terms with her powers and what she'll need to do to get home.
I added all the warning tags to give me some freedom, but I'm not planning this as a story with gore, sex, and trauma every other chapter. I add warnings to the chapters that I think might be iffy.
There are quite a few F-bombs as things get more hectic though.
Until Alana gets further along, you could classify this story as a superhero survival in a post-apocalyptic world. The powers do not flood people with instant knowledge of how to use it, so I take the time to describe how the MC fumbles through them and learns more as she goes. Like all self-taught things, she does make significant mistakes.
