Book One: The Ghost of Providence

Synopsis:

On an island isolated from the old world, tales of a ghost flit through drunken lips--the word magic lies along the tongue's tip. And while tensions boil between denizens of this land, unbeknownst to most there are darker motivations at hand: a father's disappearance, a well-kept secret, and a rivalry between houses. In this adventure of hard truths and tragic youths, Corbin and Esmerée navigate growing intrigue under the guidance of Vendor Pice, a mysterious and mad merchant, whose background is unknown, and whose motivations might prove the most dangerous of all.

General Information:

There's comedy, mystery, action, and adventure. I'm undecided so far as to romance, but we'll see how it plays out.

This series will follow two characters from the mysterious island of Providence into their adventure in the outside world.

The Ghost of Providence is centered around building conflict and events that will accumulate to satisfying action and revelations. It's highly character-focused and very few things are introduced that don't push the narrative forward. If you're interested in something a bit more traditionally plotted, or any of the descriptions mentioned above, then give this story a chance.

The chapters are relatively long, they'll all be about 2.5-5 thousand words, with the interludes being the only real exception, though the first chapter runs the longest at 5k or so.

Releases will be every Sunday unless the chapter is more than 4.5k words. If it's more than that, it will be released in two parts--one on Sunday and one on Wednesday.
