This story is about Sara Madden, Kayla Nelson, Maggie Reynolds, and Brianne Sanders three friends and where their lives had taken them up to now.

Sara is trying to escape her abusive ex-husband, Paul before he finds out that she's pregnant, but she's too late, when he finds her, he accidentally shoots her in the head.

Kayla is trying to decide whether to accept Alex, her boyfriend's marriage proposal. Alex told them would be leaving Kansas City, but not where they would be living.

Maggie is trying to prevent her in-laws from getting custody of her young son, but it is a losing cause as they have money to buy off the judge.

Brianne is being forced to marry a friend of her stepfather, and if she doesn't, her sister will be forced to marry him.

Each of the women are at a critical point in their lives when suddenly they are blinded by a bright light. When they opened their eyes, they find they've been transported onto a spaceship and being asked to marry an alien and move to their planet to live.

Each must make the decision of whether to marry this stranger and go live on a planet called Zodar or return to the exact place they were on earth before they were taken.

Nether of the four women are aware that the other three friends are aboard the ship as well and don't realize it until after their weddings.
