Having to learn how he got here, Simon has no intention to stay. He knew he had a fine life before, and he wants to go back. That's not the only reason, however. He is a skilled hunter and arms himself with a shotgun he calls "Crucifixion." It is a weapon that no other in that world has seen before and therefore does something in a pirate-like world, Pirates and Empire chase Simon down through an alternate specifically named Seven Seas.

Simon has to use his knowledge as a hunter to get through multiple challenges and obstacles for him to reach his goal or just die trying. He'll meet hopefully trusty allies, beastly pirates and tribes, big monsters from the deep and dangerously helpful magic.
