Caleb Gavin Sheppherd is enjoying a fun evening in his backyard, kicking around a soccer ball while his sister, Julia, is working for her undergrad degree. When he finally walks back into the house, he finds a strange creature lurking under his kitchen table. In spite of Carmina, his loyal German Sheppherd, bringing him the creature's head, the wounds that the strange being gave him carve themselves into his skin like proof of its existence. The strangeness of the encounter opens up his apetite for discovering the thing that attacked him. In the midst of it all, his sister starts leaving for large periods of time, giving the whole family the excuse of last minute, university studies. She had to have met a boy, right?
