Shay is a young man aspiring to be a Guard he wishes to become stronger so that he can protect the ones he cares about, or the ones he thinks he cares about. In his endeavors to do so he accidentaly catches the eyes of an underground secret organisation and ends up being forced into joining them. Their plan is to overthrow the 4 kings and their kingdoms. As Shay becomes blinded by the power of the group he has joined, he starts forgeting his original reason for wanting to become stronger.
