After winning a Miss contest for a magazine, Irina, 14, is spotted by an agent from the United States.

A little groggy from all the upheavals that have taken place in her life in a short space of time, the young girl, who until then had known only precariousness, nevertheless leaves her native Poland for the gigantic country of freedom, where everything is only disproportionate.

If fashion is the stuff of dreams, if money is supposed to satisfy all desires, and if she has often wanted to wear pretty dresses, Irina will soon realise that the world she has entered is not a fairy tale.
