Deep in a cellar in Solanthe, cultists of the undersea god Thosk attempt to summon a demon that will vanquish their enemy, the cryomancer Amaraine.

Instead, they summon Steve Crawford, a software developer from Virginia, a human who would have no chance to survive in a strange world of Swords and Sorcery but for one talent that gives him an edge in times of stress -- the ability to see everything happen in slow motion.

This is a work of portal fantasy. The world Steve finds himself in is dark and dangerous. Shadow's Blade chronicles his struggle to survive in it. There will be sword fights, horrors from beyond, scantily clad damsels in distress (and at least one damsel very much not in distress.)
