This story follows Zhang Sanfeng, a surgeon practising in Beijing. He finds himself transmigrated in the body of a 12-year-old nameless slave working in a mine. Somehow escaping from the hellhole, he stumbles upon a rich businessman who aspires to walk the path of immortal cultivation. For 10 years he follows that man faithfully after which the two separate.

Wandering in the forest, Sanfeng stumbles upon the fight between 2 cultivators. One thing leads to another and Sanfeng finds himself on the path of cultivation with a demonic cultivation manual in hand.
