Ascendant Online is a "post apocalyptic" LitRPG. The apocalypse is technically never witnessed by the reader as it happens very shortly after Tony is invited to the "Ascendant Online Closed Beta." When he dons the latest headset developed by Gambit Games, his soul it taken from his body and held in "Loading Limbo" while it is put into an enhanced body made in his image and prepped for "Ascension."

When Tony comes to "in-game" he is greeted by menus and notifications that the LitRPG genre is known for, and learns shortly after his arrival that he is not simply in a game, but that he has been flung forward in time more than fifteen hundred years, and just over three hundred humans are left alive. Tony must persevere through stacked odds and achieve revenge for all of mankind.
