Six hundred years ago, the First Shaman's destroyed the earth by opening up the door to hell. The Blight consumed the land and turned the soil into a poisoned mush. Demons swarmed the land. Humanity was forced to retreat into isolated communities guarded by the very shaman's who were responsible for the world's destruction, and now the fate of those few and far between sanctuaries of life are hanging at the edge of the sword.

When the muckraker Ike is rescued from death by the most holy Raveness, he'll do anything to repay the life debt he owes and to escape the monotonous fields of despair guardian Cadeloch. Bound together by the monastic order's meddling and an equal desire to save the world from annihilation, these two embark on a journey to the Black Palace to put an end to the apocalypse once and for all.
