Scott Thurman, an ex-convict and a rehabilitated opiate addict, had taken a liking to an RPG game: Loot Berserkers. It was Patch 1.7 when Scott had finally decided that he'd attend a Berserkers Convention after two years of playing the game. However, by an unfortunate happenstance, he died in a freak accident on his way to the convention.

Transported to Haldar, a game world meant to be a tutorial and nurturing grounds for promising heroes, Scott found the fantastical world both mysterious and familiar at the same time.
