Updates Fridays always and Wendesdays sometimes.

Blurb:

The sky broke apart and from the riven seams, monsters fell. Emmet watched the end of the world and hoped that none of the shards of the shattered sky would fall in his coffee—he knew how polluted the city's air was. Madmen raved about mirrors eating people, but Emmet chalked that part to just the normal ravings of your friendly neighborhood meth-addicts.

Follow Emmet, a deadbeat divorcee dad down on his luck, as he navigates a world made strange: shards of the sky grant men the powers of gods, mirrors maybe eat people, and monsters stalk the streets of once-civil Springfield—no, not that one and not the other one, either.

What to Expect:

This is a progression fantasy set in a during-apocalypse world that leans heavily on certain LitRPG aspects—no stat-screens nor any sort of number crunching, but instead a whole lot of perk-like mechanics and ability screens a la He Who Fights With Monsters and Defiance of the Fall. This is single POV (only prologues and epilogues will break this mold; pinky promise) and the MC won't be overpowered. There will be a lot of fights—zero to hero.

The power progression is very much inspired by Path of Exile, so there'll be a whole lotta dungeons and shards. And lore about fallen civilizations ravaged by the dying of the gods.

Chapters are 2-to-3k words each (7-10 pages). Technically, they are 7-to-8k words (10-20 pages) total and are then divided into thirds and those thirds are 2k each—Bite-sized! I use this system to guarantee there's always a Friday upload; it leaves a good deal of leeway so I don't burn out.

Awesome, spectacular, perpendicular (what?) cover art by Bervolart - Instagram link
