A young boy's dreams of becoming the second Dark One are bent when his first skeleton summon melts in front of his eyes. His dreams are cracked when the second skeleton summon flies off into the sky. And his dreams are completely shattered when his third skeleton summon explodes.

However, since he can still summon more skellies, he quickly pieces together the shards of his dreams and continues.

Instead of becoming the next Dark One, the Dark Two, if you will, the young boy is going to become the best worst necromancer in history. The Faulty Necromancer won't give up!

***

The Dark One's reign of prosperity ended not long ago due to their mysterious disappearance (and believed death). But their legacy as the greatest necromancer in history remains. Their seemingly immortal empire has revolutionized technology, magic, and society. Most children idolize the Dark One. It took a while for others to agree since they are, no matter what, a necromancer.

But the Dark One's influence knew no bounds, and soon after their rise, necromancy was no longer outlawed on most countries. It was regulated, but it was no longer a suicidal career choice. Alas, few of the kids dreaming of becoming the next Dark One wanted to become necromancers when they realized the impracticality and difficulties of the magic. Only someone like the Dark One could make it shine.

But, as with everything, there is an exception.

Ritzy never bothered with the difficulties or uselessness of necromancy. All he cared about was the fact that the Dark One stood on top of the world. So if he surpassed the Dark One, he would be the one standing above all others.

***

This story is about a guy dreaming of becoming the greatest necromancer in history. It's just that his necromancy is a little quirky, so there are more than a few hurdles in his path. And on a sidenote, the MC isn't exactly the most sane person. It's just a warning to those who might find it off-putting, but the guy could be found in a mental hospital if he existed in our world :O

Also [This work is a participant in the Writathon]
