The Bridge.

As old as time itself, and maybe older still.

There are endless questions about its creation and purpose. Where did it come from? Who built it?

Why?

But perhaps the most important question is; what lies on the other side? What could possibly drive people in their countless billions to cross it?

There is one legend about the bridge, known to all. For those that reach its end, a wish will be granted.

Lan already knew his wish before he stepped onto the bridge.

To destroy it.

***

Summary:

4000 words a chapter.

The bridge to forever is a mysterious structure, of which no-one knows the origin. It has always been there and probably always will.

Whenever a hapless soul steps onto the bridge, they are called pathfinders and given access to the system, helping them grow stronger. And Stronger is exactly what they need to be. The weak don't last long on the bridge.

With the ability to turn anything he touches into a weapon, Lan will hack and slash his way across the eternal bridge, destroying anything that gets in his path.

He doesn't want fame, revenge, power, money, or eternal life. All he cares about is making things right. Pathfinders shouldn't exist, no human should have that level of power. And since no one else is doing anything about it, he will.

If you like tower of god, second life ranker or other stories of that type, this will be right up your alley.

[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon]
