-----------------

–Synopsis–

-----------------

Fire took Vander's brothers in arms, along with his pride and his courage. Now he flees those memories, wandering the land with his misbegotten companions – the apostate priestess, the vengeful outlander, and the elderly gnome (who refers to himself as a wizard). The Sephis Cycle is an episodic high fantasy, which follows these ragtag friends as they rise in the world, gaining a reputation for skill and bravery. Their adventures will pit them against brigands, assassins, cultists, and beasts with jaws of stone! And darker things. Ancient, unyielding...devouring.

This story is a darker riff on classic adventuring-party fantasies, such as the Dragonlance Chronicles. It takes place in an original setting called Thindul. Maps and lore can be found at WorldofThindul.blogspot.com, which will serve as an Appendices for the Cycle.

--------------------------------

–Publishing Schedule–

--------------------------------

Next Upload: Date TBD. The next arc, "A Fool's Errand," is currently being written.

*After finishing an arc, I will post its chapters once per day until they are all published. Then I'll pause until I finish the next arc, and will post those chapters the same way. Generally, uploads with be in the evening (EST).

--------------------------------

–Progress Update–

--------------------------------

9/12/2023: Total of 8329 words on the upcoming arc, so far. Although this isn't a huge increase from the last update, it represents an efficient use of very limited writing time in early September, which keeps me optimistic about this section's speed over all. I've also been working on a couple of sizable lore articles, one on vampirism in Thindul, the other on dragons and associated beings. The former is up on my appendices blog now, while the latter should be uploaded by the end of the month.

Other Note: I had been using "Drakken" as a name for Thindul's draconic humanoids. I recently discovered, however, that a lot of other authors have used "Drakken" or "Draken" similarly. So, I've switched to using "Draegar" instead, and attempted to replace all instances of "Drakken." If I've missed any replacements, I wouldn't mind at all if you pointed it out!

*In the bottom Note of "Roadmap" there is a log of previous updates. I'll generally post an update once or twice per month.

-------------------------------------

–Warning Tag Details–

-------------------------------------

Gore: Moderate gore with a few instances of stronger body horror.

Profanity: Profanity, though not pervasive, is present.

Sexual Content: All sexual content is consensual and PG-13.

Disturbing Content: Cosmic horror and themes of thanatophobia. Mind-control is a recurring motif.
