"The gods have been unkind to the Reach." That's been a true statement since the invasion of the midlands by Trestin. It was certainly true during the Span of Ash, and it'll likely be true for all of time.

Set in the world of Aithe, where everything written disappears when the writer dies, this novel traces the first rebellion of the Aroegin Reach in opposition to the King of Harfal. It features several POV Characters including:

Cael Oberlan- A young warrior on the side of the Reach, and the son of Ordan Oberlan, the chief of the Tides.

Merily Oberlan- Cael's younger sister and recently engaged to his best friend.

Emil Trestinsen- Nephew of the King on the side of the Crown and the killer Merily and Cael's half-brother.

What starts as a simple story of rebellion continually evolves, and no matter what else remains, there will be a lingering bitterness and salt left in the wound.

"Salt in the Wound" is part of the Inheritance of Dust and Ash setting and books by Mike Roberti. In the world of Aithe, where writing disappears when the one who wrote it dies, how can you possibly know what is true and of what value is history? How long can anything truly last?
