<p>My love and I are an unusual couple. She's an elven enchantress, and I'm a dwarven engineer. Together we specialized in building golems. I built the frames, she provides the magic. But her research into new magic techniques, aided by my dwarven machinery, has given birth to a revolution: crystalized mana. It could mean a whole new age of magic with seemingly endless potential for new magic-powered machines.</p> <p>If only the Elven Kingdom was willing to let the dwarves have this new discovery uncontested. Instead, it looks like they are willing to go to war to get my wife back, to secure this new magi-tech for themselves, despite having chased her away as an outcast over a decade ago.</p> <p>Or love will have to stand the test of time, over and over again, even as my after-death transition into the first Warforged gives us some slim chance of surviving the forces arrayed against us.</p> <p>Note: The setting of this novel is not Dungeons and Dragons or the Dragon Age series of games, though I freely admit there are some ideas borrowed from both. Warforged just sounded like the best possible name for a species of sapient golems, and I decided to use it. There are also all the typical fantasy races. The overall tech level is about 18th-century but with magic, or "Magic-based Steampunk". The story also includes a time loop mechanic.</p> <p>The cover art is a placeholder, used without permission.</p>
