<p>A long long time ago. There truly was magic. There were mages and fierce warriors who fought off dragons and other demonic beasts. The world ran on magic. The lamps were fueled with mana. The cannons used magicite. Humans fought against other humanoids such as elves, beastmen, and many more. They also fought amongst themselves. But this all changed one day. Something happened, causing the mana out of everything to be sucked out, leaving the slightest amount of mana. Almost everything that had mana in its body, died. Only people who had never practiced magic had survived. Every single demonic beast is born with mana, so nearly all of them died, and the sovereigns of them all were weakened to the point that they became your average animal. Humans are the only humanoid species that are born without man so all others died. Spirits, Demons, and Elementals that used to inhabit the world fled to different dimensions to escape. With the absence of mana, minerals and materials underground disappeared, collapsing the planet, causing a worldwide apocalypse, reducing the size of the planet many times over since 99% of the world contained mana, which few survived. The planet's original name was lost in the process but it was renamed 'Earth' because materials without mana used to be called "earthen metals/resources/materials". Although magic was banned, some knowledge made its way through when everyone had forgotten about the past. The new generations never knew what had happened to the world. When people got their hands on the knowledge they attempted to practice it, only to find that the mana density was way too low. They had to exploit loopholes and use focuses and sacrifices to fuel the summoning of demons and spirits to do magic with the mana they brought from their dimensions, which was called sorcery. They were eventually found out and hunted because they were mistaken for "evil" and were trialed. This event was called the "Salem Witch Trials".</p> <p>What if one day all the mana suddenly came back, awakening sleeping bloodlines and returning magic to the world?</p> <p>Warning: I'm just a beginner so don't expect much. Constructive criticism only. No set scedule. Don't be surprised if I stop this or redo this.</p>
