Chris grew up knowing he would die in the Trial. It wasn't even a question for him. In order to survive for a month in the tunnels of the Maze, beset by bugs, rats, goblins, and more, you need some sort of edge, an ability that would give you the power to fight for survival, but Chris… Chris was born without an ability. And so he enters his Trial prepared to die, and die he does. But for some, death is far from the end, and in death, Chris discovers a power of his own. A power that will take him further than he could ever imagine.

Greg was your average college student, a little socially awkward, but who isn't? All he really needed was a couple friends and some books to keep him happy, and he was. Then, right in the middle of class, everything goes dark and Greg wakes up two years later to find his world turned into an apocalyptic wasteland, only surviving due to a strange ability that doesn't seem to let him die. But is it related to the superpowers that have come to dominate this post-apocalyptic world? Or is it something more?

Thomas was just thinking he should get in better shape when a strange window appeared in his vision displaying a simple task, opening a path to power he'd never even dreamed of. Power not only for him, but for everyone around him, for his whole world, a power that could change everything! But some people don't like change, and are willing to do terrible things to prevent it.

Andrew was born a Beast, a being with abilities far beyond the average person and power he can barely control. He grew up seeing himself as a monster in human skin, an outcast on the edge of society, wishing he could be a part of it but knowing he never could. But when a hunting trip goes wrong, Andrew is forced to confront the power that has left him so miserable, searching for a path forward, and maybe- maybe a way to be human?

All they wanted was to be. To find a place to call their own and friends and family to share it with. To exist and experience life in all its many stages, and in the end, to look back at all they've accomplished and feel satisfied. It isn't their fault they were born as avatars of the four concepts that allow all of reality to exist. They just couldn't ignore what they could do, and did what they could. How were they supposed to know it'd lead to the Apocalypse? It isn't like this crap came with a user manual.
