<p>The Demon King is dead, and the realms have been torn apart in his absence.</p> <p>A thousand years ago, the world's balance was thrown awry when Hell forcibly merged into existing lands, a realm called Hesperia becoming the new home of demons. Formed from the passing of corrupted souls, demons have long been at odds with the mortal races. For a time they remained at an uneasy peace, until a human hero struck down the Obsidian Throne's last ruler, and demons swept out in a vengeful fury to drown the mortal lands in blood.</p> <p>The hordes were pushed back eventually, but the demon realm remains fraught with bloodshed. Split into a dozen shifting states, warlords rise and constantly fall, locked in a power struggle for control of the land. This period of warring clans has lasted the past ten years, throughout which a scheming strategist has searched for the demon who can unify the land and end the fighting.</p> <p>She may have found one at last, a newly formed and powerful demon, but a major obstacle lies in the way of her ambitions; this demon remembers another world where she was human, and she has no desire to fight or kill.</p> <p>(A dark fantasy story with F/F romance and elements of progression fantasy, though for the deuteragonist rather than the POV character.
