When eaten, gossamers have the power to get you higher than you can possibly imagine, so long as you first make a sacrifice. For pill-popping teen Cy Oakley, they may just be the key to escaping reality for good.</p> <p>Alone and peaking off the slugs, the forest shifts into a kaleidoscopic realm where mythic entities become watchful eyes. Cy is subdued by a spirit named Dariya, who deems him unworthy of his soul and steals it for herself. In order to get his soul back, Cy must make amends for the evils of his ancestry, and help liberate women and children imprisoned by a murderous underground movement known as the R.o.B.</p> <p>Prince of Slugs begins in the backwoods, but Cy will also traverse the depths of urbanity and the sinuous realm of the gossamer slugs in a journey that's both magickal and real.</p> <p>CW: considerable hard drug use, suggestions of sexual assault and themes of human trafficking, and explorations of racial and class disparity in America. All treated with the utmost respect and care, learned through my own personal experiences in this crazy world, as well as honest research for insight.
