<p>Following the death of her mother, Solvei and her tribal family of áed — a nomadic race composed entirely of flames — try to escape from their pursuers in the wasteland. As they are fleeing, unfortunate circumstances separate Solvei from her tribe, leaving her to wander alone. With an uncertain future, Solvei must find a way to survive in a new land with the threat of being hunted looming over her.</p> <p>[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]</p> <p>A few things I think I should point out: I do consider my story to be rather fast-paced, but the protagonist is a child, so you probably shouldn't expect anything ridiculous for a while. The themes of the first arc/novel are particularly grim, but I don't believe it is enough to warrant actual warning tags. Finally, this is my first story and I expect I have made many errors. If you see any issues or think I could improve in any area, feel free to let me know.</p>
