Both from his family's past and towards his desired future.</p> <p>To get there he needs magic. But even in the empire, where access to the god towers, to the gifting of magic, is a civic right, his family name haunts him.</p> <p>Varro only has one option. The water tower, a place braved only by the desperate and the foolhardy.</p> <p>Varro hopes he isn't foolhardy, but one has to be desperate to brave the realm of a mad god.</p> <p>~<>~<>~</p> <p>This is a story I'll be working on over January while I'm taking a break on Aggravated Defense. The plan is for this to be a short story/novella length for the first volume with more at an undetermined future date.</p> <p>No set release schedule other than I'm trying to get it done by the end of the month.
