Desperate to escape his mundane life on Earth, Daniel agrees and goes on a journey that leads him to Alarstardes. A land ruled by knights and lords who gain their position by cultivating essence and using Spirit weapons. Rare ancient artifacts that soul bond to their user, evolve with them and deliver devastating power. They are highly coveted. They are the path to immortality. They are the one thing Daniel shouldn't have stolen.

Caught between two worlds with abilities he doesn't understand. Hunted in both for knowledge he doesn't yet possess. His only hope for survival is to grow stronger and unravel the mystery surrounding the name of his Spirit weapon. The Army of One.

************************

Disclaimer

This story is about a character who gains a world teleporting power he can't control and that activates randomly on it's own. It bounces him back and forth between Earth and a fantasy world called Alarstardes. If you don't like reading about somebody gaining powers (and problems) and taking them back to Earth at times (before being forcibly thrown back to Alarstardes) then this story isn't for you.

This story is also about an inexperienced protagonist who makes mistakes and tries to learn from them. There is rarely an easy black and white answer to his problems and so has to balance risk and reward when taking action. He is not a stupid character but he is flawed and sometimes takes risks out of desperation but there is always a reason for it. It's never mindless and he's always learning and re-evaluating.

A lot of unhappy reviews and ratings come from not know these two things going into it.

****Mild and vague spoiler below for chapter 18****

The current main example being that when Daniel is being hunted in the story and goes into hiding, he decides to risk exposing himself in order to try and befriend someone powerful and well-connected, so that this person will then help him. (this is apparently his brain-dead lobotomy moment that was considered unspeakably stupid to some reviewers).
