Meanwhile, the Protector of the Realm–sap number two, for those of you keeping track–is on a mission to restore the heir to his rightful throne, regardless of whether or not he actually wants it. Now our last sap, she's a privileged nobody with a false sense of competence and–" </p> <p> "Sweet goddess, Rali! You said you were going to make this quick." </p> <p> "It's called building tension, Ellisar!" </p> <p> The elf, Ellisar, continues scrubbing the red stain from a handsome suede jacket. The jacket is not her own. Nor is the suspicious red stain. "All they need to know is sap number three is working for our adversary. A political baddie who's sent her to determine whether the protector and her band of cutthroats are still loyal to the realm." </p> <p> "Ooh, that's us! We're the cutthroats. Nice tie in. Do you think we should mention the ancient evil, or the prophecy warning us about the end of times, or how the mission might accidentally trigger that?" </p> <p> "Nah. Probably won't come up." </p> <p> </p> <p> A new chapter will be released once per day for the first twenty-eight chapters. Afterwards, new chapters will be uploaded twice a week, following a M/F schedule. </p>
