<p>Jin is a simple merchant who pays his taxes, sells his wares, and keeps his head down in the presence of Cultivators and Mages. His face is plain. His clothes are plain. Anyone who meets him would say that he is polite, courteous, charming, and as unremarkable as a person could possibly get. He travels the continent on a sturdy, but reliable cart, pulled by an equally reliable mule, Lok. His hobbies include chess, cooking, fishing, wood carving, and making deals with people to eat their souls. Samira is a down-on-her-luck adventurer, who just wants to earn enough coin to retire early and die of high-cholesterol and alcohol poisoning. She's good with the spear and even better with the dagger. In fact, she's pretty famous in the Adventurer's Guild. Her only problem is that she can't seem to find a single contract that doesn't lead her into life or death situations. She just barely escapes with her life every single time.</p> <p>Somehow, their paths end up crossing more than once.</p>
