Synopsis: The main character is Adam Hayze, an orphan whose parents were famously known for their incredible prowess as healing Super Heroes. Hayze dreamed of following in their footsteps, but his superpower paled in comparison to theirs, and he had to face the reality that he could never become a hero. Hayze didn't give up, though, and he trained his mind and body day in and day out to triumph over his shortcomings. However, his efforts weren't enough to get into the school he always dreamed of attending, U.A., the best hero education institute in the country. After failing the preliminary entrance exam for the 9th time, a board member arrives at his home one day to inform him he only has one more chance to pass. The news forces Hayze to face his greatest fear: losing his dream. All hope seems lost when a doctor makes him a unique offer.

Background: This is a My Hero Academia Fanfiction (Original, I know). I started writing this back in March of 2019, entirely on a whim. I literally woke up one and day and said: I'm going to write this. Fast forward 31 months later, and this series is 2,742 pages and 167 chapters in length. I've written every chapter for just two friends to read, and that's it, but they've been telling me for a long time that others would enjoy it. So, here it is. There is A LOT of context that I feel is important, not to understand the story, but to understand my writing process. This story allows the reader to see my evolution as a writer. I'm not perfect grammatically, and I definitely am flawed, and that's especially visible early on, but that's part of the story's charm (for me).

8 Characters in this story are insert characters of my friend group, including myself, which sparked this entire fanfiction. We would always joke about what we would be like in specific anime universes, so that's what I put together. Of course, none of these characters are realistic representations, and all their names have been changed except my own, which always was under the alias Hayze. With how the story and these characters have progressed over the years, I hardly am able to connect them with the real people, which is why I'm comfortable leaving my own character's name intact. The real people mainly served as baseline personalities for the characters.Changes to Source Material: The story takes place in the world of My Hero Academia with slight changes. The setting is Nashville, Tennessee, in the United States and begins in Early June of 2017. U.A. is a College where aspiring heroes can receive an education in Hero Studies in 3 years. At first, the story follows a similar outline to the actual My Hero Academia manga: Origin Arc -> U.A. Beginnings -> Sports Festival, etc. However, these arcs do not operate the same way are my own version. There are changes to the way the world works that you'll see very early on. My goal was to make this world parallel to the MHA Manga universe with my own take; it's similar, but not the same.

Book Style: This fanfiction is written like a play; there are dialogue and action paragraphs. I'm aware this can lead to repetitive sounding lines such as Hayze does this, Hayze does that, but I really enjoy the style, and I hope you can too. Character's appearances are (typically) never described; this is intentional so that the reader can imagine them however they like. While I have my own visualizations for what the characters look like, I won't canonically say they look one way or another the other. However, there are times where certain physical aspects of a character are confirmed because they are important for establishing aspects of their personality or their superpower (or both).

Key:Speech:Hayze: Hello!Action: Hayze kicks the door.Small Action + Speech:Hayze: *sneezes* Yuck.Thought:Hayze: (Man, I really hate that guy.)
