Never hit "random" when you're in character creation, especially not with the highly attunable game Subversion , where the characters are so advanced that they have backgrounds and memories. That's just asking for trouble. That's when you get disobedient Chosen Ones and engineer pothead elves instead of nice, quest-doing characters.

That Chosen One is Caertonn, who just wants to farm instead of going on his grand quest to slay the Dark Lord. But, alas, he's forced to go on his journey alongside Kinenhael, the bombardier elf who should have been an eloquent mage, Lyd, a gentle minotaur who replaces their destined healer when the other guy is eaten by other minotaurs, and Breithart, a pretty OP tank who refuses to take off his armor.

The four set off to conquer dungeons and quests to prepare themselves for the final battle against the Dark Lord. But, will they make it there? And if they do, will it turn out as expected? Or will it be something a little more "random"?

(Chapters will be released monthly in arcs. See my Patreon page if you'd like to read them sooner.)
