Spoiler: Spoiler My current plans for this story are NOT to create an OP character that can kill anything they want. I do want to create a reasonable character that has flaws and goes on an adventure of both wonder and self-realization.

Prologue

GRN 55323, that's my name. Given to me by my creators five years ago. I was created to work on, fix, and improve the Sleep Infinium. The Sleep Infinium is a dream augmenting software chip that changes what you dream about when you sleep. You may be thinking that I'm a robot based on the fact that I said I was created but that is just how people are made in the current time. People are very rarely born anymore to be born is reserved for high-class individuals that have more money. I was created by my employer and now I work and slave away every day and get paid almost nothing to do so. Now don't go thinking I have a Shitty life because I was happy when I was created as I knew of nothing different. This was it and I was content with living life as a slave it was how I was trained.

Of course, that didn't last for me. My happy life ended the day a customer told me that they didn't want their broken Sleep Infinium returned because they had already bought a new one. I had told the customer that I had already fixed their chip and would still need the payment because the work had been done to which I was promptly chewed out and told that if I didn't cancel the charge then they would report me to the IWB (Improper Workforce Bureau) which will have me fired. I had heard about this kind of thing happening before. The guy who had my job before me had been fired by the IWB and when a created individual is fired from their job that they are literally made to do they are turned into manual labor slaves. Which at the time was the worst thing I could imagine.

So, of course, I apologized profusely begging them not to report me and that I would not charge them and call it a misunderstanding. I thought that would be the end of it but I now had a Sleep Infinium chip that had no registered owner and no way of being returned to the company because it would alert them of my mistake and would result in me getting fired. So I kept it hidden at my place of residence. I have a room in the basement of my office where I keep all my personal belongings. It's not much but I was happy with it as a slave employee I couldn't have asked for a better life.

I had information on how the Sleep Infinium worked and how to fix it while also make it run better. But I really didn't know about what happened when you put it into your chip port. My curiosity was what ended up being my undoing. After a few months of wrestling with myself over whether or not I should plug in the chip, I finally decided that I would try it once and then be done with it. So when I got off work on Sunday I ran to my room and plugged the chip into my chip port. But nothing happened I expected a menu to come up in front of my eyes asking me or telling me things like back in the academy. But nothing happened so I thought about the name of the chip and decided it must only function once you have fallen asleep so I laid back and thought about what the chip might do until I fell asleep.
