Arras has been born into a world of life or death, complex politics, and magic. Otherwise known as;Araia. Does he know, or even really care about any of this? No, at least, not yet. He just wants to live his life how he sees fit, and if that just so happens to be following his natural instincts, who's to tell him otherwise? But, when he's separated from his family, things get hairy, and fast. When your future is clouded, and everything just around the corner seems about ready to turn you into breakfast, you need to fight to survive, all on your own... Or at least, that's what he'd think. One chance encounter flips his life around, and irrevocably alters his fate.Follow along Arras's journey as he is elevated from his station in life to one he's not quite sure he wants to have, but one he will find his way through regardless. Or well, he'll at least try. Though one things for certain, even with his aversion to the ridiculousness of other creatures ways of life, he certainly has the ability to learn. [participant in the RR Writathon]What to expectWeak to strong main character, though the focus of the story itself isn't them getting strong, that simply happens to be a byproduct of their eccentric nature. Along with this weak to strong transition, is an emotional and intellectual advance from humble beginnings. This is a story of growth, and of finding ones way in life.fairly slow updates, maybe once per week. Yet also fairly long chapters which vary from 4-5k words long, while occasionally having a much longer chapter. This upload rate will speed up at some point in the future.Arcs consisting of 10 chapters each. Generally coming out to about 50-60k words per arc, counting bonus chapters from intermissions. One consistent third person view of the main character, and they have a radically different mindset when compared to most people. The POV will rarely ever switch and most things in this story will be colored through their point of view. Additionally, there will be occasional intermission chapters, which are held entirely from the point of view of other characters. These intermission chapters are much shorter, and always release alongside an actual chapter.A Bestiary/Dictionary at the end of every chapter which will talk about creatures or things mentioned in the chapter. This is entirely unnecessary to the story itself and can be skipped with no consequence. It is simply a world building info dump.
