<p>John Smith's life has been one horrible event after another, only boosted by his terrible luck. After escaping a life of thievery in the capital, he moves to the Dungeon Boonies in the western reaches.</p> <p>John, the ex-thief turned Dungeoneer, is eventually abandoned by his party during a dungeon surge, and is barely saved in time by another, while on the brink of death.</p> <p>Reeling from recent experiences, John remains traumatized, and refuses to return to the Dungeon. John hides away from everyone, drinking his remaining funds away. As John becomes friends with the group who saved his life, John realizes how damaged and worn their gear is, but the only remaining blacksmith in the area is an old man.</p> <p>With a lack of available blacksmiths due to the war in the North, the smith is unable to keep up with growing demand from dungeon divers, so John decides to end his Dungeoneering career to help out his friends, apprenticing to the aging blacksmith. When another tragedy strikes, John forced take up the mantle himself.</p> <p>That's all and well, except there's one issue.</p> <p>He's worthless when it comes to smithing.</p> <p>When the horrors that lurk beneath the town's surface escape, can John overcome his trauma and help protect everything he holds dear, or will he break under the pressure?</p>
